Since 1997, Preventive Medicine Center has specialized in state-of-the-art therapies, which includes the supplementation of bioidentical hormones: DHEA, testosterone, pregnenolone, estrogen, progesterone, melatonin, and thyroid.
We also specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of P.C.O.S.
Our Physicians
The program offered at the Preventive Medicine Clinics is the culmination of my own personal experience, and ongoing review of the research and latest scientific studies. As an certified Rouzier hormone physician and an avid fitness enthusiast, I have personally found that the benefits of hormone replacement have enhanced my quality of life and put me on a track to delay avoidable muscle deterioration which enables me to perform physically as I had in the past.
As patients relate to me the aches and pains, loss of muscle and strength, decrease in endurance and lack of desire for physical activity I am fulfilled knowing that we carry on the Rouzier legacy of helping patients live more physically active and healthier lives which hopefully results in less disease and better longevity and overall quality of life. Our patients overwhelmingly report that after optimizing their hormones back to youthful levels, the pain and deterioration and or pain has subsided. They are back to what they were years ago. I personally am happy that I followed my intuitive sense that there was another way of looking at this. As a medical doctor it is easy to fall into a confirmation bias against hormone replacement especially when we are not trained in the art of bioidentical hormone replacement.

Dr. David Wilgarde has been a resident of the Coachella Valley for the past 25 years. He is board certified in several medical specialties including internal medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine, and a subspecialty certification in pain medicine. He has always had a special interest in bioidentical hormones and has been trained by Dr. Neal Rouzier.
Since moving to the Coachella Valley in 1992, he has served in many different roles including medical director of the acute rehabilitation unit at Desert Regional Medical Center for 12 years. He has also been involved in interventional and chronic pain management for 12 years. He also has an interest in the nonsurgical treatment of chronic spinal pain and more recently developed an interest in the newer technologies of regenerative medicine including platelet rich plasma and stem cell applications for orthopedic conditions.
